ROME: PART TWO

Hey lovely readers! Today, I'm sharing part two of my trip to Rome this past weekend; the last two days of the trip were the best :) If you missed part one, it's the previous post!
Saturday
We slept in and headed out around noon. After breakfast, we decided to walk to the Vatican taking the scenic route by the Tiber River. It was another gorgeous day, and we stopped for pictures, of course!

We got to the Vatican and walked around, but didn't go in. I've got to say, it's an incredibly impressive building! I was secretly hoping we'd get a glimpse of the Pope, but sadly, he was nowhere to be seen.
Heyyyy Popeee!

After the Vatican, we stopped by the Altare della Patria. It's a monument honoring Victor Emmanuel, the first king of unified Italy. From a distance, it's already impressive, but up close, it's truly amazing!

We ended Thursday with dinner out and some gelato hehe

The most beautiful sight I ever did see
Sunday
Our last day in Rome we went to the Colosseum! I think no matter how many times I'll see this place, it'll always take my breath away. I remember seeing it for the first time 7 years ago and how surreal it was; it was the exact same feeling this time!

And a stop to the Roman Forum before we left
That view though....

Rome was such a fun trip and I'd go back in a heartbeat. I'm so thankful for this little getaway, hopefully I'll be back again soon!

Xoxo,
Karen
