REFLECTING ON THREE YEARS

Clockwise, Left to Right- 1) September 2014 in NC 2) Ringing in 2015 in London 3) Lee's company Christmas party 2014  4) Dinner with friends in 2013
This past weekend was Lee and I's third anniversary! Oh, what an adventure it has been. Looking back on the past three years, I can hardly believe all that has happened. From dozens of trips back and forth across the pond to getting engaged to finally living in the same city, I wouldn't change a thing. Who knew that the guy I met on a rooftop in Seville, Spain would end up being the one for me? I sure didn't. Three years later, I'm still head over heels in love with this guy and can't wait to spend many more years together. Happy Anniversary, baby. I love you!

WEEKENDING: AFTERNOON TEA EDITION

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend and yay for 3 day weekends! Sadly, I have to work today, but I did make the most of the weekend! My friend, Ellen was in town from Madrid and it was so nice to see a familiar face :) Here's what we got up to:

Friday- Ellen, Lee, and I met up with my friend Sarah and her boyfriend Luke for Street Feast. If you didn't catch my post last week, it's basically an open-air food festival. All of us ate to our hearts' desire and caught up over beers and good food.
I also found the prettiest purple flowers and of course, had to get a pic with them. Loving Spring!

Saturday- We slept in and left around 1 pm to meet friends for afternoon tea. Oh my word, I almost died of happiness when I walked into the restaurant. It was my girly, pink heaven! Tea, pastries, friends, and a gorgeous room, do you need much more?

Afternoon tea lasted for about 3 hours and then we rolled ourselves home to nap before heading to drinks in Soho at 10 p.m!

Sunday- It was absolutely gorgeous out so we spent most of the morning reading in a park. I could've stayed put all day:
Ellen wanted to go to Harrods so we spent a couple of hours wandering inside. If you're visiting London, you've got to make a stop at Harrods!
Sunday night called for yummy chicken pot pie, comfie clothes, and back-to-back episodes of the Gladiators:

LONDON LOVE: STREET FEAST

Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE food- I'd probably count eating as one of my hobbies. One of the biggest perks of living in London is the amazing selection of different foods you can take advantage of! Though there are plenty of fancy restaurants to choose from, I still prefer street food/ food truck style stalls.
Last weekend, Lee and I checked out the Street Feast in Dalston, London. I'll let the pictures do the talking:

There are about 50 different stalls of all kinds of food and drinks!

If you're visiting London soon, be sure to check out this amazing event! It's a great place to meet up with friends and I know I'll be returning lots this summer!

TO THE OFFICE: FLORAL

love being able to wear my pretty Spring dresses to work now that the weather is better! My mom picked me up this dress on her last trip to Taiwan and it's become one of my go-to work dresses. It's easily dressed up with a blazer and heels for the office or dressed down with sandals for a night out.

Dress: gifted/ Bag: Michael Kors/ Shoes:Oasis
What have you all been wearing to the office lately?

WEEKENDING

Happy Monday, everybody! I hope you all had a good weekend! Here's what I got up to:

Friday: My friend from college, Caroline and her boyfriend stayed with us Friday night before heading to Copenhagen on Saturday! It was so good to see a familiar face and catch up with them; we went out for dinner and drinks. We didn't take any pictures, but here's an oldie from our last double date together!

Saturday: Said goodbye to Caroline and Donovan and headed to my spin class. It was at this amazing studio near Oxford street called Psycle (love the name!). My coworker Gabby and I basically got our butts kicked by this class. The music was intense, the room had flashing lights, and the instructor was yelling every 10 seconds.. the whole time, I was like " AHHH WHAT'S HAPPENING"
Sunday: Lee and I headed to Street Feast in Dalston, East London. It basically an open-air food market with about 50 stalls of food and drinks! Nomssss

I also bought this new bikini in preparation for my vacation next month! Can't wait to wear this little number on the beach:

We wrapped up Sunday with dinner and drinks at our local pub. Isn't it the cutest? I love how it feels like a living room:

WEDDING PLANNING: LOCATION, LOCATION

When Lee and I first got engaged, one of the big questions we got from friends and family was..."Where are you going to have the wedding?" No, they weren't asking about this venue or that, they wanted to know which country our wedding would be in!
We had a lot to think about when choosing a location; did we want it in America? London? Maybe in Taiwan since half my family is there? Trying to figure out the perfect solution for everyone seemed impossible, so I knew we had to come up with a way to decide! Here's what we did:

1) List the pros and cons of each location- Consider every detail you can think of like hotel costs in both locations for guests, venue hire rates, prices of flights, etc. Putting together a list really helped Lee and I to compare and pick the best option.

2) Decide how much stress you're willing to take on- For us, a London wedding would've been the most convenient because it's where we live. An American wedding meant a lot of planning over the web and not always being available to meet with vendors or fix issues in person. If you accept the potential of more stress, then a destination wedding should be no problem!

3) Realize that you can't make everyone happy - At the end of the day, it's your day. Don't get so caught up in the little details that you forget about your own happiness. Basically, follow your heart!

Ultimately, Lee and I decided that North Carolina was our place and I couldn't be more excited! It just feels right getting married in my home state!
Brides, how did you decide on a location or venue?

Karen

BRIGHT AND HAPPY

I've been on the hunt for colors lately with Spring arriving! I'm so bored of wearing lots of grey, black, white and navy for the past 3 months of winter. London is in full bloom these days with flowers everywhere and stylish ladies pulling out all of their Spring outfits!
Tropical colors have been catching my eye lately; here are some Spring picks I'm lusting after:

Isn't that Kate Spade Flamingo bag just amazing? Just added that to my birthday list ;) I love the rose gold sandals (from Office) paired with the blush blazer and dark jeans. Perfect for drinks after work or a fun night out! Those flats from Union Jack Boots are so fun and casual too, loving all the pretty colors in them!
What spring colors have you all been wearing lately?

WEEKENDING

Can't weekends last just a little bit longer? Oh, how I wish! This weekend was simply gorgeous in London and I got my share of vitamin D. Here's what I got up to:
Friday: After work, I had dinner and drinks with coworkers. The weather was nice so we sat outside the Spanish tapas bar we were at.

Saturday: Lee and I brunched at an American diner and headed out for a day of exploring. We started out with some home goods shopping at Camden Passage. It's amazing for antiques and quirky things and I'll definitely be going back!
We walked by the canals and checked out all the houseboats and had to stop by a pub for a drink of course ;)
Sunday: I met up with my friend Gemma for brunch and girl talk near Buckingham Palace and Hyde Park. So relaxing and fun!
London, you're a babe

Barbecue for dinner with Lee concluded this fun weekend! Noms
Hope you all got some sun and relaxation this weekend!

TO MY MAMA

Mom, I wish I could be home to celebrate you on this coming Mother's Day. There are so many things I want to tell you, but most of all I want to say " Thank You." Thanks for always believing in me, encouraging me to go after my dreams, for telling me I'm beautiful and for reminding me that there is so much beauty around me.
With each passing year, I find myself becoming more and more like you; and while that might have bothered me in the past, I'm actually proud of that fact now. It means that maybe one day I'll be half the genuine, caring, loving person that you are.
I know we haven't always gotten along in the past and Lord knows we're both stubborn as can be, but I always want you to know that I Love You.
So here's to you, Mama.

A LITTLE BLING, ANYONE?

For me, a good piece of jewelry can transform a basic outfit into an unique one. It's all about the accessories as they say! Today, I'm excited to share a wonderful collaboration with you all.
Gemma Jewels is a small business based in NC and owned by the lovely Justine. During her search for the perfect wedding jewelry, she found that there was a lack of reasonably priced pieces... so she started Gemma Jewels!

I fell in love with the site the moment I saw it, especially the gorgeous Claudia statement necklace & Serra earrings!
Love the handwritten note that Justine included!

I love how the stud size isn't too large or too small, just perfect for all occasions!

I love how Gemma Jewels provides pieces that are elegant and practical..perfect for the everyday girl who just wants to sparkle sometimes!
